This year the fund raising event for the scholarship fund will be held in conjunction with the inter beach races. This event will be held the night that the races are at Robert Moses. We have been fortunate to acquire a large amount of prizes for the competitors. Keep in mind this event is not restricted to lifeguards, and lifeguards are not restricted to doing it with someone from their beach. All are welcome to participate, as well as multiple teams from the same beach. All competitors will receive some sort of award!
I have attached the entry form, and the up to date list of our awards.

7th Annual
Dennis P. Angermaier
Memorial Lifeguard Scholarship
Run-Swim-Run Relay

Dennis Angermaier was a lifeguard for 37 years, with 20 of them as the Lt. at RM III. The three things Dennis loved were his family, the beach, and teaching. One of his dreams before passing away from a short battle with cancer in 2001 was to have his wife Jean, set up a scholarship fund for worthy lifeguards. Jean has done this, and the RM III crew is once again happy to help her in keeping his dream alive.
This year the race committee of the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corps has incorporated Dennis’s event into our annual races. It will be held at the place we refer to as “PARADISE”,
RM III. Through his love for this tiny beach, and the way he ran it, Dennis became the face of RM III. We the crew at RM III are glad to be the host of the JBLC races at Robert Moses this year. Help us, in helping Jean to keep the dream alive.
