The much awaited video called "Jones Beach Boys" has finally be released. Ron Blake Colby spent the summers of 2005 & 2006 shooting and interviewing for this fantastic documentary. It is a top quality video that is visually pleasing with good music and some really classic interviews. I give it 4 whistles. Please be sure to purchase a copy for your collection. Ron is here on Long Island now with copies, or order it on line at[url]

For those of you who have not seen, and for those of you who have and want to keep the beach thing going post-season with your fellow lifeguards, there will be a screening of the documentary “Jones Beach Boys,” at the Long Island “Big Fish” Film Festival.

When: Sunday, October 14th
Time: 2:30 PM
Where: Bellmore Movies
222 Pettit Avenue
Bellmore, NY 11710
516 783 3199

Tickets are $9.00.

This new festival is showing films for four days. As part of the festival, a 38 minute-film will proceed the screening of “Jones Beach Boys,” which in turn runs 92 minutes. Attendee’s get to vote for the “Audience Award.”

Reggie Jones has informed me that Mulcahy’s Bar, is just a few minutes away. 3232 Railroad Ave Tel: 516-785-9398. So, it should all work out well: the screening, a beer or two with friends, and then home for dinner.

Hope to see you there. Many thanks,

Ron Colby

update: In some very exciting news "Jones Beach Boys" has been accepted into the Long Island Big Fish Film Festival and it will screened on Sunday, October 14th at 2:30 PM at the Bellmore Movies, 222 Pettit Ave. Bellmore, NY 11710. Tel. 516 783 3199.

If anyone wants to purchase advance tickets (and I would advise that so you're guaranteed admittance) they have to send a money order made out to: South Shore Entertainment Corp. Mail to South Shore Entertainment Corp., P.O. Box 93, Massapequa, NY 11758. Money orders must be received at least three days prior to screening. You will then receive a voucher through the mail, and the name will be added to the guest list. You will need to check in at the Box Office window the day of the screening. Tickets are $9.00 each. If the voucher does not reach you before the screening, your name will be on the guest list. BE SURE TO SPECIFY THE DATE AND TIME OF THE MOVIE BLOCK YOU WISH TO SEE, AND BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN CASE OF A SELL OUT.

Lets show some support for our own movie! Ron will be present at the screening and will have DVDs for sale!
