The petition to remove Jim Yodice as the shop steward for ZB was not presented by me, rather it was an effort by the crew I no longer work with. The need to develop clear guidelines for discipline of lifeguards was made evident by my demotion and transfer, and the fact that I was demoted and transfered by my shop steward/captain is an issue the EB should consider when drafting the language about future shop stewards.

Mr. Clark, It is my understanding that your demotion and transfer has nothing to do with your shop steward. The reason that you were demoted was because you failed to follow a directive from your captain. I realize you are only a second year lifeguard and maybe you don't get it, but when your captain gives you an order, it is your responsibility to follow it unless it endangers your safety. If you are going to be part of this lifeguard corp., you should understand the chain of command and the responsibility that goes along with the job.

Yes, there was an error in this weeks B+B. The B+B states that, "the issue of a Captain also holding the position of Beach Representative was raised, as the result of a petition presented by Ryan Clark."
The petition was submitted by myself, Ben Howell. Ryan Clark is correct in stating that he didn't hand it in. He had no knowledge of this petition, as he no long works at the Zach's Bay location. If someone could fix this typo on the version posted in the forums it would be appreciated.
Good luck to everyone during the off season!
~Ben Howell

Yes, it was Ben Howell, not Ryan Clark. I asked a Beach Rep, and he said "I think that 's Ryan Clark." I should have double-checked. Sorry for the mixup. Dennis
